Open-Source ADSB Multilateration System
Hi,I have been watching the flights around my area using a software defined radio system. But it shows only the aircraft which send out ADSB data. to find the rest of the aircrafts we need multilateration.
The only multilateration sstem that i have found are closed-source and expensive. For multi-lateration we need atleast a minimum of 5 clients to send in the data then the position of the aircrafts can be calculated. I have finished a formula but need some cheap computers to be in remote locations to send in the data to the server. Hope to use Python on the Orange pi and make the clients.
Those who are into plane watching please give in positive votes.
Hi, just voted on your poll. How do you plan to place the clients? Unless you have a rather big property I see no easy way to place them out there (in public spots). It would be very interesting to see this working. https://flightaware.com/adsb/mlat/

you need only compile rtl-sdr and dump1090 for OrangePi.
Well for the placement, I can ask my friends and request other people who are the property owners....I am sure people will be happy to help...
Regarding the flightaware and flightradar...you get multilateration only after they approve you and believe me it takes hello lot of time....I still havenet been able to get multilateration sharing from them....
There are some free multilateration servers around (e.g. http://server.mlat-radar.net/coverage/) . This is what I wan't to do....see aircrafts that are not sending proper ADS-B data. Heya i am for the first time here. I found this board and I find It really useful & it helped me out much. I hope to give something back and aid others like you aided me.
