German tutorials for Orange Pi
Hi there, I am running DigitalToys.info, a German blog for HTPCs, single-board-computers and mediaplayers. I already covered setting up the Raspberry Pi and the Odroid C1 as a mediaplayer, I would like to do similar tutorials for the Orange Pi as well. Additionally, I would like to do a performance comparison with the 3 devices, I expect the Orange Pi to outperform the other two through GB ethernet and SATA interface. Therefore, I hereby apply for a test sample of the Orange Pi.
If you need further information, please let me know.
Looking forward to your reply.
OK,please send your shipping address to my e-mail(zhao_steven@263.net). Hi Steven, just a quick question: are the test samples already shipped? I just read that you already announced an Orange Pi 2 now, I am a little afraid that the test units might be outdated before I actually get my hands on it... Orange Pi won't go stale. We will continue to make Orange Pi.Orange Pi 2 Ethernet is 100Mbps.
Hi Steven, just wanted to let you know that my Orange Pi arrived today. Thank you very much! I will start the first test in the weekend, first tutorial will follow soon... Thank you. Hi Steven, sorry, no good news. The sample I received refuses to start up. I tried with 3 different power supplies between 2A and 3.3A, all of them working correctly on a RPi. When connecting the micro USB plus, a red and a green LED on the board light up for about 3 to 5 seconds, then go out again and nothing happens anymore, no signal via HDMI or VGA.
I tried both, the Ubuntu and Android image on a SanDisk 16GB SD card. Result as described above.
Any hints? Orange pi v 1.2? OS Lubuntu fo Orange PI? Yes, Orange Pi v1.2, tried Lubuntu and Android. @DilgitalToys,
I had exactly same problem as you, solved with strong power supply connected at 5vdcport
