No need to waste your time. We already dropped 16.04 since we provide Ubuntu 18.04 and you can build 16.04, 18.04, 19.10 and (preparing) 20.04

In case you want Kali ... get Armbian Buster and proceed with this https://github.com/LionSec/katoolin Much better than non-existing Kali and all low level power of Kali (wireless drivers with monitor mode).
