The first batch of Orange Pi Plus will be shipped on 20 March.
The first batch of Orange Pi Plus will be shipped on 20 March.Thank you for your waiting. Cool!Pity there is no NAND flash.
If I understood correctly it is not possible to directly boot from the SATA disk.
In that case SDHC is still needed to load u-boot from.
Ideally there would be some nand flash for that. Orange pi plus has 8GB EMMC flash onboard. Cool!
You should add that to the website (http://www.orangepi.org/orangepiplus/en.html) FransM replied at 2015-3-14 16:50

Maybe its possible to boot from EMMC to SATA without using the sd-card.
lets see when its arrived :)
@zhao_steven
Why was the Allwinner A31s initially replaced by the H3 ?
@Fritz, I guess it's due to it's cost. Because A31s is old chip.Because A31s has relatively large power consumption and slow speed.
android image and user maual for the pi plus (H3) available in the download section, but still no board. :(
shipment seems delayed for some reason. Orange Pi Plus can boot EMMC flash without sd-card. Edited by OrangePiLinux at 2015-3-28 21:39

Well I completely agree--A31S is not best solution right now. Probably because in A31S is used SGX544MP2 chip--it makes it expensive.
But at same time I can tell that H3 chip also not the best one. I mean to me looks like Allwinner manufactured this chip--but I do not think that it is powerfull with Mali 400MP2 only. Like kind of like funny situation--H8 is good chip--but more expensive and H3 is cheap--but not as powerfull. Like ther is no midlle range chip from Allwinner right now...
